For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

My children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you?

Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily, anxiety for all the churches.

If there is therefore any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion, make my joy full, by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;

But we were like children among you, like a nursing mother cherishes her own children. Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not the Good News of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.

For this cause, I bow my knees before the Father,

For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
