Why is my pain unending and my wound without hope of being made well? Sorrow is mine, for you are to me as a stream offering false hope and as waters which are not certain.

But now my soul is turned to water in me, days of trouble overtake me: The flesh is gone from my bones, and they give me no rest; there is no end to my pains.

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am wasted away: make me well, for even my bones are troubled. My soul is in bitter trouble; and you, O Lord, how long?
