Luke 1:26-38

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee, by the name of Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the name of the virgin was Mary. And coming in to her, he said, Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you!read more.
And she was troubled at his word, and doubted what this salutation meant. And the angel said to her, Fear not, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And the Lord God shall give him the throne of David his father, and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end. And Mary said to the angel, How shall this be, since I know not a man? And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you; and on that account the holy child shall be called the Son of God. And behold Elizabeth, your relative, even she is pregnant with a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month to her called barren; for nothing is impossible with God. And Mary said, Behold, I am the servant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her.

Luke 2:8-15

And there were shepherds in that country staying in the fields and watching their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. And a voice came to him, Arise, Peter, kill and eat. But Peter said, By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten any thing common and impure. And a voice came to him again, a second time, What God has purified, regard not common. And this was done thrice, and immediately the vessel was taken up to heaven. And while Peter doubted with himself what the vision which he had seen meant, behold, even [then] the men sent by Cornelius, having inquired for the house of Simon, stood at the gate, and calling aloud asked if Simon who was called Peter lodged there. And while Peter was considering of the vision, the Spirit said to him, Behold, men seek you; arise and go down and go with them without hesitation, for I have sent them. And Peter went down to the men and said, Behold, I am the man whom you seek; what is the cause for which you have come? And they said, Cornelius a centurion, a righteous man, and one that fears God, and esteemed by all the nation of the Jews, was divinely instructed by a holy angel to send for you to his house and hear words from you. Then he called them in and entertained them. And the next day he arose and went with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa went with him. And on the day following they came to Caesarea; and Cornelius was expecting them, and had called together his relations and particular friends. And when Peter came in Cornelius met him, and falling down at his feet worshipped him. But Peter raised him up saying, Arise, I also am a man. And conversing with him he went in, and found many come together; and he said to them, You know that it is not lawful for a Jew to associate with a man of another nation, or come into his house; and God has taught me not to call any man common or impure; wherefore, being sent for I also came without objecting. I ask therefore for what reason you have sent for me? And Cornelius said, From the fourth hour of the day I fasted till this hour, and at the ninth hour I was praying in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in splendid clothing, and said, Cornelius, your prayer is heard and your charities are remembered before God. Send therefore to Joppa and call Simon who is called Peter; he lodges at the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea, who when he has come will speak to you.

Revelation 1:20
