Let my lord, I pray thee pass over before his servant, and let, me, lead on in my own easy way, at the pace of the cattle that are before me, and at the pace of the children, until that I come in unto my lord, towards Seir. When, a beeve or a sheep or a goat, is brought forth, then shall it be seven days under its dam, - and, from the eighth day and onwards, it shall be accepted as an oblation of an altar-flame unto Yahweh, Whether cow or ewe - it and its young, shall ye not slaughter on one day.

And when the ass saw the messenger of Yahweh, she squeezed herself against the wall, and squeezed the foot of Balaam against the wall, - and again he smote her. And the messenger of Yahweh went on further, and took his stand in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn to the right hand or to the left. And, when the ass saw the messenger of Yahweh, she sank down under Balaam, - then was Balaam's anger kindled, and he smote the ass with the staff.
