Nevertheless man being in honor abides not: he is like the beasts that perish.

For that which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; the same thing befalls them: as the one dies, so dies the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man has no advantage over a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward to the earth?

For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
