So that they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has yoked together, let not man separate.

But if the unbelieving companion departs, let him depart; the brother or the sister is not bound in such cases; but God has called us to peace.

And it was said, Whoever would put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorcement. But I tell you, that whoever puts away his wife, except for adultery, causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries her that is put away, commits adultery.

Every one that puts away his wife and marries another, commits adultery; and he that marries a woman put away from a husband, commits adultery.
