Then shalt thou take the anointing oil and pour it upon his head and anoint him.

David said furthermore, As the LORD lives, if the LORD does not smite him or his day comes to die or he descends into battle and perishes, the LORD forbid that I should stretch forth my hand against the LORD's anointed; but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his head and the cruse of water and let us go.
He gives great deliverance to his king and shows mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.
Now know I that the LORD has kept his anointed; he will hear him from the heavens of his holiness with the saving valour of his right hand.
For the love of thy slave David, do not turn away thy face from thine anointed.
