And he appointed twelve that they might be with him, and that he might send them to preach,

And after six days Jesus takes with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart.

And the apostles are gathered together to Jesus. And they related to him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. And he said to them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place and rest a little. For those coming and those going were many, and they had not leisure even to eat. And they went away apart into a desert place by ship.

And the apostles having returned related to him whatever they had done. And he took them and withdrew apart into a desert place of a city called Bethsaida.

And he began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and of the chief priests and of the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

In that hour the disciples came to Jesus saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens? And Jesus having called a little child to him, set it in their midst, and said, Verily I say to you, Unless ye are converted and become as little children, ye will not at all enter into the kingdom of the heavens.read more.
Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens;

And when he was alone, those about him with the twelve asked him as to the parables. And he said to them, To you is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to them who are without, all things are done in parables, that beholding they may behold and not see, and hearing they may hear and not understand, lest it may be, they should be converted and they should be forgiven.

until that day in which, having by the Holy Spirit charged the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;

And having called together the twelve, he gave them power and authority over all demons, and to heal diseases, and sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. And he said to them, Take nothing for the way, neither staff, nor scrip, nor bread, nor money; nor to have two body-coats apiece.read more.
And into whatsoever house ye enter, there abide and thence go forth. And as many as may not receive you, going forth from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a witness against them. And going forth they passed through the villages, announcing the glad tidings and healing everywhere.

These twelve Jesus sent out when he had charged them, saying, Go not off into the way of the nations, and into a city of Samaritans enter ye not; but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of the heavens has drawn nigh.read more.
Heal the infirm, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons: ye have received gratuitously, give gratuitously. Do not provide yourselves with gold, or silver, or brass, for your belts, nor scrip for the way, nor two body coats, nor sandals, nor a staff: for the workman is worthy of his nourishment.

And he calls the twelve to him; and he began to send them out two and two, and gave to them power over the unclean spirits; and he commanded them that they should take nothing for the way, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their belt; but be shod with sandals, and put not on two body-coats.read more.
And he said to them, Wheresoever ye shall enter into a house, there remain till ye shall go thence. And whatsoever place shall not receive you nor hear you, departing thence, shake off the dust which is under your feet for a testimony to them. And they went forth and preached that they should repent; and they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many infirm, and healed them.

but ye will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

We also are witnesses of all things which he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom they also slew, having hanged him on a cross.

And Jesus coming up spoke to them, saying, All power has been given me in heaven and upon earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have enjoined you. And behold, I am with you all the days, until the completion of the age.

And he said to them, Go into all the world, and preach the glad tidings to all the creation.

and said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved the Christ to suffer, and to rise from among the dead the third day; and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.read more.
And behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but do ye remain in the city till ye be clothed with power from on high.

As thou hast sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world;

Jesus said therefore again to them, Peace be to you: as the Father sent me forth, I also send you.
