Charity beareth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity is not insolent, is not puffed up, doth not behave indecently, is not selfish, is not easily provoked, suspecteth no evil, rejoiceth not at injustice, but rejoiceth in the truth: covereth all faults, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but as to prophecies, they shall be abolished; or tongues, they shall cease; or knowledge, it shall be laid aside. For now we know but in part, and we prophesy but in part. But when that which is perfect shall come, then that which is defective shall be laid aside. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned as a child: but when I became a man, I laid aside childish things. For we see now as through a mirror obscurely: but then we shall see face to face. Now I know but in part, but then I shall know even as I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three graces; but the greatest of these is love.

Likewise ye younger, be subject to the elder; and all of you behaving with due submission one to another, be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, but sheweth favor to the humble.

Admonish them to be submissive to governors and magistrates, to obey their orders, and to be ready to every good work; to slander no man, to avoid contention, to be gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
Is there any wise and understanding man among you? let him shew his works by a good conversation in the meekness of wisdom:
And admonish the disorderly, comfort the feeble-minded, support the weak, be of a patient spirit towards all.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering,
and with long-suffering forbear one another in love,
strengthened with all might according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joy;
preach the word, be instant both in season and out of season; convince, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and instruction.
Wait patiently therefore, my brethren, till the coming of the Lord: behold the husbandman expecteth the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it, till he receive the former and the latter rain. Be ye also patient, establish your hearts; for the coming of the Lord is near. Repine not, my brethren, against each other, that ye be not condemned: behold, the judge is at the door.read more.
Take for an example of enduring evil and of long-suffering the prophets, who spake in the name of the Lord. Behold, we account those happy, that are patient. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
submitting yourselves to each other in the fear of God.
Let every soul be subject to the powers that are over them: for there is no such power but from God: the powers that are over men, are appointed by God.
Be subject therefore to every human form of government, for the Lord's sake: whether it be to a king as supreme;
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord: for the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and the saviour of that body. As the church then is subject to Christ, so also should wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
