Whoever shows contempt for his neighbor lacks sense,
but a man with understanding keeps silent.
The one who despises his neighbor sins,
but whoever shows kindness to the poor will be happy.
1 Timothy 4:12-14
Let no one despise your youth; instead, you should be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, give your attention to public reading, exhortation, and teaching. Do not neglect the gift that is in you; it was given to you through prophecy, with the laying on of hands by the council of elders.
But you, why do you criticize your brother? Or you, why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before the tribunal of God.
For He has not despised or detested
the torment of the afflicted.
He did not hide His face from him
but listened when he cried to Him for help.
So Amos answered Amaziah, “I was not a prophet or the son of a prophet; rather, I was a herdsman, and I took care of sycamore figs.
Then I said, “Lord God, please stop! How will Jacob survive since he is so small?”
Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so they won’t become discouraged.
