and as they were eating, he said to them, "In solemn truth I tell you that one of you is going to betray me!" In deep distress they began to ask him, each in turn, "It is not I, is it, Master?" In reply he said: "One who has dipped his hand with me in the dish will betray me.
While they were at the table, eating, Jesus said solemnly. "It is one of you who will betray me??ne who is eating with me." They began to be sorrowful and to say to him, one after another, "Surely, not I?" "It is one of the Twelve," said Jesus, "one who is dipping into the same dish with me.
When Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, he took the Twelve aside by themselves, and as they went he said to them. "Look! We are on the way up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, "and hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and scourged and crucified; and on the third day he will rise from the grave."
"See," said he, "we are going up to Jerusalem and the Son of man will be betrayed to the high priests and the Scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will mock him, spit upon him, flog him, and put him to death; and after three days he will rise again."
When he had spoken thus, Jesus was deeply moved. He testified and said, "In solemn truth I tell you that one of you will betray me." Then the disciples began looking at one another, wondering which one of them he meant. There was reclining upon Jesus' breast one of the disciples whom he loved.read more.
So Simon Peter beckoned to him, saying, "Ask who it is about whom he is speaking." So that disciples just leaned back against Jesus' breast and said to him, "Lord, who is it?" "It is that one," answered Jesus, " to whom I am going to give a piece of bread, after dipping it." So when he had dipped the bread, he took it and gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon. And after he had received the piece of bread, Satan entered into him. "What you do, do quickly," said Jesus.
Barely had he spoken these words when Judas, one of the Twelve, appeared, accompanied by a great crowd of men with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying. "Whoever I kiss is the man; arrest him." So he came straight up to Jesus and said, "Hail, Rabbi!" and kissed him eagerly.
At that instant, while he was yet speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, came up, and with him a mob armed with swords and clubs, sent by the high priests and Scribes and elders. Now the betrayer had given them a sign. "The one I kiss," he said, "is the man. Arrest him, and take him away safely." So he came and going straight up to Jesus he said:
While he was still speaking there came a crowd, and he who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus in order to kiss him, but Jesus said to him, "Judas, you are betraying the Son of man with a kiss?"
When he had spoken thus, Jesus was deeply moved. He testified and said, "In solemn truth I tell you that one of you will betray me."
"It is that one," answered Jesus, " to whom I am going to give a piece of bread, after dipping it."
For I passed on to you the account, which I myself received from the Lord; how the Lord Jesus, on the very night he was betrayed, took bread,
"Stiff-necked, uncircumcised in heart and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Ghost! As your fathers did, so do you. "Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? They killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become??53 "you who received the law, given through angels, and obeyed it not."
It was then that one of the Twelve, he who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, "What are you ready to give me for betraying him to you?" So they weighed him thirty pieces of silver; and from that time he kept looking for a chance to betray him.
Now Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went away to the high priests to betray Jesus to them; and they were glad when they heard it, and promised to pay him money. So he kept looking for an opportunity to betray him.
Satan however, entered into Judas (the man called Iscariot), who was one of the twelve. And he went out and conferred with the chief priests and commanders They were delighted, and agreed to give him money.read more.
He consented to this, and looked for an opportunity to betray him, when the people were not present.
