The overseer then must be irreproachable, husband of one wife, sober, discreet, decorous, hospitable, apt to teach;
if any one be free from all charge against him, husband of one wife, having believing children not accused of excess or unruly. For the overseer must be free from all charge against him as God's steward; not headstrong, not passionate, not disorderly through wine, not a striker, not seeking gain by base means;
Ye are witnesses, and God, how piously and righteously and blamelessly we have conducted ourselves with you that believe:
Better is a poor man that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
