Then they bribed men who said, We heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.

And they stirred up both the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and coming suddenly they seized him and led him to the Sanhedrim, and brought forward false witnesses who said, This man speaks incessantly against this holy place, and the law; for we have heard him say, that Jesus this Nazoraean will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses gave us. And all who sat in the Sanhedrin looking steadily at him saw his face like the face of an angel.

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shown you from the Father; for which of these works do you stone me?

And some of the scribes were sitting there, and reasoned in their minds, Why does this man speak so? he blasphemes. Who can forgive sins but God alone?

And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaks blasphemies? who can forgive sins, but God alone?

And the high priest rent his clothes, and said, What further need have we of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy; what do you think? And they all condemned him to be deserving of death.

And entering a ship, he crossed over, and came to his own city; and behold they brought him a paralytic, lying on a bed. And Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, Son, be of good courage; your sins are forgiven. And behold some of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes.
