as they saw He was dead already, they did not break his legs: but one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water.

And being in agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was like clotted blood falling down upon the ground.

saying, Did not we strictly charge you not to teach in this name? and behold ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and would bring this man's blood upon us.

This is He that came by water and by blood, even Jesus the Messiah; not with water only, but with water and blood: and of this the Spirit beareth witness, for the Spirit is truth.

nor by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purification of the flesh; how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself spotless to God, purify your conscience from dead works, that ye may serve the living God?

Whereas in these very sacrifices there is a recalling of sins to mind every year. For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore upon his coming into the world He saith, "Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire, but a body hast thou prepared me:read more.
in whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure: then said I, Lo I come, as in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God." Having said before, "Thou didst not desire, nor hadst pleasure in, sacrifice and offering, and whole burnt-offerings, and sacrifices for sin," (which are offered by the law) then He adds, "Lo I come to do thy will, O God." (He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second.) By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And indeed every priest under the law standeth daily ministring, and frequently offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: but He having offered one sacrifice for sins, is for ever sat down at the right hand of God; waiting for the future, till his enemies be put under his feet. For by one offering He hath perfected for ever those that are sanctified.

As the bodies of those animals, whose blood being offered for sin is brought into the holy place by the high-priest, are not eaten, but are burnt without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate.

whom God hath appointed to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, in the remission of past sins, according to the forbearance of God;

in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the remission of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they who come out of great affliction, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

And in the same manner He took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant ratified in my blood: this do, as often as ye drink of it, in remembrance of me."

and He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it: for this is my blood, the blood of the new covenant, which is to be shed for many for the remission of sins:

and He took the cup, and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them: and they all drank of it. And He said unto them, This is an emblem of my blood the seal of the new covenant, which is to be shed for many:

as also the cup after supper, saying, This cup represents the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you.

But Christ being come an high-priest of the good things to come, hath entered once for all into the holy places, through a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is, not of this building, nor by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption for us. how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself spotless to God, purify your conscience from dead works, that ye may serve the living God? And on this account He is the mediator of a new covenant, that undergoing death for the redemption of transgressions against the first covenant, they that are called might receive the promise of an eternal inheritance.

and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than Abel.

Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the holy Spirit hath appointed you bishops, to feed the church of God, which He purchased with his own blood.

For the Lamb, that is in the midst of the throne, shall feed them, and shall lead them to fountains of living waters: and God will wipe off every tear from their eyes.

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night. And they have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their life unto the death.

and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the first-born from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests to his God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

For it pleased the Father, that all fulness should dwell in Him; and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace by the blood of his cross; by Him only, whether they be things on earth, or things in heaven.

let us draw near with sincerity, in the full assurance of faith, having our hearts cleansed from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people by his own blood, suffered without the gate.

If we say that we have communion with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practise the truth: but if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have communion with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.read more.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness:

ye, who were formerly afar off, are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

If any one that violateth the law of Moses, dieth without mercy under two or three witnesses, of how much greater punishment, think ye, shall he be counted worthy, who hath trampled under foot the Son of God, and accounted the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and abused the Spirit of grace? For we know who hath said, "To me belongeth vengeance, I will recompense, saith the Lord:" and again, "The Lord will judge his people."read more.
It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
