but now, said he, let him that hath a purse, and a bag, take them both; and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment to buy one.

At evening his disciples came to him, saying, this is a desert place, and dinner-time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go to buy themselves provisions in the villages.

dismiss the company, that they may go to the neighbouring farms and villages to buy provisions, for they have nothing to eat.
