but I tame my body and bring it into subjection, lest after that I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

"Behold, God will not cast away a virtuous man, neither will he help the ungodly.

God hath not cast away his people which he knew before. Either know ye not what the scripture saith by the mouth of Elijah, how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
