And taking them up in his arms and putting his hands upon them, he blessed them.

And they brought unto him also infants that he would touch them; but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. At that time Jesus answered and said, I praise thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and understanding and hast revealed them unto children.

In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them unto babes; even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

For look upon your vocation, brothers, that ye are not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, but rather God has chosen that which is the foolishness of the world to confound the wise, and God has chosen that which is the weakness of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and that which is vile of the world and that which is despised God has chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought the things that are,read more.

And Jesus called a little child unto him and set him in the midst of them and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of the heavens. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens.read more.
And whosoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives me.

And taking a child, he set him in the midst of them; and taking him in his arms, he said unto them, Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receives me; and whosoever shall receive me, receives not me, but him that sent me.

But Jesus, seeing the thoughts of their heart, took a child and set him by him, and said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receives me, and whosoever shall receive me receives him that sent me; for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

He that receives you receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me. He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward, and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name because ye are of the Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in the heavens their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in the heavens.

Brothers, be not children in understanding, howbeit in malice be ye children; but in understanding be perfect.

as newborn babes, desire the rational milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby in health; if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is benevolent;

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

For any one that uses milk is not qualified in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God has commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God gives thee.

For the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye sons; for blessed are those that keep my ways.

Honour thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), that it may be well with thee, and thou may live long on the earth.

But whosoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe in me to fall, it would be better for him that a millstone such as is turned by an ass be hanged about his neck and that he be sunk in the depth of the sea.

And whosoever shall be a stumbling block to one of these little ones that believe in me, it would be better for him if a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Woe to the sons that leave, saith the LORD, to make counsel, but not of me; to cover themselves with a covering, and not by my spirit, adding sin unto sin!

That this is a rebellious people, lying sons, sons that did not desire to hear the law of the LORD:

and shalt convert unto the LORD thy God and shalt hear his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart and with all thy soul,

My son, fear the LORD and the king, and do not meddle with those that are given to change,

Honour thy father and thy mother that thy days may be lengthened upon the land which the LORD thy God gives thee.

Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence; is it not much better to be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and we shall live?

Ye shall fear, every man his mother and his father and keep my sabbaths. I AM your God.

My son, keep thy father's commandment and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let those learn first to govern their house in piety and to recompense their parents, for this is honest and pleasing before God.

Thou shalt rise up before grey hair and honour the face of the elder and fear thy God. I am the LORD.

Likewise, young people, be subject to the elders in such a manner that you are all subject to one another. Be clothed with humility of will, for God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble.

But I said unto their sons in the wilderness: Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, neither keep their laws, nor defile yourselves with their idols:
