"If any one comes to Me, and hates not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and, further, his own soul also, he cannot be My disciple. And whosoever does not bear his own cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple.
Now this He spake, signifying by what manner of death he would glorify God. And, having spoken this, He saith to him, "Follow Me."

In this we have known the love, that He laid down His soul in our behalf; and we ought to lay down our souls in behalf of the brethren.
A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another; even as I loved you, that ye love one another.
