He who says that he is abiding in Him ought himself also to walk even as He walked.

But we all, with unveiled face, reflecting as a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transfigured into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

It is enough for the disciple, that he become as his teacher, and the servant as his lord. If they called the Master of the house Beelzebub, how much more those of his house-hold?

A disciple is not above the teacher; but every one, when perfected, shall be as his teacher.

And He said to all, "If any one wishes to come after Me, let him disown himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whosoever wishes to save his soul shall lose it; but whosoever will lose his soul for My sake, the same shall save it.

For to this were ye called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow His steps; Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth; Who, when reviled, reviled not again; when suffering, was not threatening, but committed Himself to Him Who judgeth righteously;

And whosoever does not take up his cross, and follow Me, is not worthy of Me.

"If any one comes to Me, and hates not his own father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and, further, his own soul also, he cannot be My disciple. And whosoever does not bear his own cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple.

Now this He spake, signifying by what manner of death he would glorify God. And, having spoken this, He saith to him, "Follow Me."

And there arose also a contention among them as to which of them seemed to be greatest. But He said to them, "The kings of the gentiles exercise lordship over them; and those having authority over them are called 'Benefactors.' But ye are not so; but let the greater among you become as the younger, and he who leads as he who serves.

If, therefore, I, 'The Lord,' and 'The Teacher,' washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet; for I gave you an example, that, as I did to you, ye also should do.

not looking each to his own things, but each also to the things of others. Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus;

This is My commandment, that ye love one another, even as I loved you.

In this we have known the love, that He laid down His soul in our behalf; and we ought to lay down our souls in behalf of the brethren.

A new commandment I give to you, that ye love one another; even as I loved you, that ye love one another.

These things I command you, that ye may love one another.
