Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which he purchased with the blood of his Own.

And he gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of service, for the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to become mature, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

But as for you, teach what befits sound doctrine. The older men are to be temperate, serious, sensible, sound in faith, in love, and in endurance. The older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not to be slanderers or slaves to much wine, but they are to teach what is good,read more.
so they can train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. Likewise urge the young men to be sensible. Show yourself in all respects an example of good deeds, and in your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not to talk back to them, and not to steal, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in everything they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
