This punishment which for many to such a one is sufficient;

And we, exhort you, brethren, admonish the unruly, comfort the small-souled people, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.

For we having come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but in everything being troubled; fightings without, fears within. But God, the one comforting the humble, comforted us by the coming of Titus; and not only by his coming, but also by the consolation with which he was comforted by you, proclaiming unto us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced the more.

So comfort one another with these words.

This punishment which for many to such a one is sufficient; so on the contrary you should rather forgive and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one may be swallowed up with excessive grief.
