For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials:
Let us therefore pursue what makes for peace and for mutual edification. Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. It is right not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that makes your brother stumble.
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
