The Word that Jehovah spoke against Babylon, against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet.
So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come on Babylon, all these words that are written against Babylon.
O daughter of Babylon, O destroyed one! Blessed is he who will repay to you your reward which you rewarded to us.
As Babylon is to fall for the dead of Israel, so at Babylon the dead of all the earth shall fall.

And every ship-pilot, and all the company on the ships, and sailors, and as many as work the sea, stood afar off. And they cried out, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What is like the great city? And they threw dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe! Woe to the great city, by which all who had ships in the sea were rich out of her costliness! For in one hour she was ruined.
And the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them, shall shout for Babylon; for the plunderers shall come to her from the north, says Jehovah.
And their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
And the woman whom you saw is the great city which has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.
