For a tabernacle was prepared. In the first part were the lampstand, the table, and the show bread; which is called the Holy Place.
1 Samuel 21:6
So the priest gave him holy [bread]; for there was no bread there but the show bread, that was taken from before Yahweh, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away.
"You shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes of it: two tenth parts of an ephah shall be in one cake. You shall set them in two rows, six on a row, on the pure gold table before Yahweh. Every Sabbath day he shall set it in order before Yahweh continually. It is on the behalf of the children of Israel an everlasting covenant. It shall be for Aaron and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Yahweh made by fire by a perpetual statute."
You shall set bread of the presence on the table before me always.
Also we made ordinances for ourselves, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God;

Some of their brothers, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the show bread, to prepare it every Sabbath.

He put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the side of the tabernacle northward, outside of the veil.
