And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him, and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters, and he broke the bands and was driven of the demon into the wilderness.)

For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion, for we are many.

Then calling his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of weakness.

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow does not cast out demons but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons. And Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not remain; and if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom remain?read more.
And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out the demons by the Spirit of God, then certainly the kingdom of God is come unto you. Or else how can one enter into the strong man's house and spoil his goods except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. He that is not with me is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters abroad.
