And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was just and pious, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

But a certain man in Caesarea, by name Cornelius, a centurion of the band called Italic, pious, and fearing God with all his house, both giving much alms to the people, and supplicating God continually,

And when the angel who was speaking to him had departed, having called two of his household and a pious soldier of those who were constantly with him,

And a certain Ananias, a pious man according to the law, borne witness to by all the Jews who dwelt there,

And pious men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him.

And the congregation of the synagogue having broken up, many of the Jews and of the worshipping proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

But the Jews excited the women of the upper classes who were worshippers, and the first people of the city, and raised a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them out of their coasts.

And some of them believed, and joined themselves to Paul and Silas, and of the Greeks who worshipped, a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.

He reasoned therefore in the synagogue with the Jews, and those who worshipped, and in the market-place every day with those he met with.

The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from before the evil.
