For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?
Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects: therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty: For he bruises, and binds up: he wounds, and his hands make whole.
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Now no chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them who are trained by it.
