2 Kings 1:16-17

1 Kings 17:1

And I will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah for the provocation with which thou have provoked me to anger, and have made Israel to sin. And LORD spoke also of Jezebel, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel. He who dies of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat, and he who dies in the field shall the birds of the heavens eat. (But there was none like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in the sight of LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up. And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did whom LORD cast out before the sons of Israel.) And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly. See thou how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days, but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.

1 Kings 17:1-7

Elijah was a man of the same nature as we. And by prayer, he asked for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.
