Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him who should come after him, that is, on Christ, Jesus.
testifying both to the Jews and also to the Gentiles, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
By whom we have received the grace and the apostleship, to cause the faith to be obeyed among all the Gentiles in his name,
And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he has commanded us.
Philip said unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will suffice us. Jesus said unto him, Have I been such a long time with you, and yet thou hast not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.read more.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me, or else believe me for the very works' sake.
So then faith comes by hearing, and the ear to hear by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their fame went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tabernacle for the sun,

What advantage then has the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision? Much in every way: first, certainly, that the oracles of God have been entrusted unto them. For what if some of them did not believe? Shall their unbelief have made the truth of God without effect?read more.

Unto you, therefore, who believe he is precious; but unto those who are disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, even to those who stumble at the word, not obeying in that for which they were ordained.
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.
The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.
Then he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock to cause a fall to both the houses of Israel, for a snare and for a net to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
And he that makes a difference is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat by faith; and whatsoever is not out of faith is sin.
Also, some make a difference between one day and another; others esteem every day alike. Let each one be fully persuaded in his own soul. He that observes the day, let him observe it unto the Lord; and he that does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He that eats, eats unto the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, unto the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
