Therefore said they unto Him, What should we do, that we may work the works approved of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him, whom He hath sent.

and bringing them out, he said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thine house.
by whom we have received grace and apostleship to preach the obedience of faith for his name's sake, to all nations;
And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He hath given us a charge to do.
Philip saith unto Him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long with you, and dost thou not know me? Philip, he that hath seen me, hath seen the Father: and how then dost thou say, Shew us the Father? Dost thou not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? as to the words which I speak to you, I speak them not of my self; and the Father who abideth in me, doth the works.read more.
Believe me therefore that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: at lest, believe me for the very works.
So that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Verily their sound is gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and yet the world knew Him not: yea, He came to his own peculiar right, and even his own people received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them granted He the privilege to become the children of God, even to them that believe on his name;

Now to Him that is able to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, (conformable to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret in former times, but is now manifested, and made known to all nations by the writings of the prophets, according to the appointment of the eternal God, for the obedience of faith) to the only wise God be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Whence also it is said in scripture, Behold I lay in Sion a chief corner-stone, choice and precious: and he that confideth on it shall not be ashamed. To you therefore who believe it is precious: but to them that are disobedient, the stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence. These stumble at the word through unbelief, unto which also they were appointed.
But he that hath any scruple, is condemned if he eat; because he doth it not with faith: and whatsoever is not of faith, is sin.
One preferreth some days to others; another esteemeth every day alike. Let every one be fully satisfied in his own mind. He that regardeth a day regardeth it to the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, in deference to the Lord he doth not regard it. So he, that eateth all sorts of food, eateth to the Lord; for he giveth God thanks for it; and he that eateth not of some kinds of food, in deference to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks for the rest. At last he appeared to the eleven as they were sitting at table, and upbraided them with their unbelief, and hardness of heart; because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He was risen.
