The Spirit is the life-giving power; the flesh contributeth nothing: the declarations which I make to you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who the person was that should betray him. And he said, Therefore have I informed you, That no man can come to me, except it be given him of my Father.

For by grace ye are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not by works, lest any man should boast;
