But Moses said, "It would not be right to do so, for the offerings we shall sacrifice to the LORD our God are an abomination to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice offerings abominable to the Egyptians before their eyes, will they not stone us?
So Moses cried to the LORD, "What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me."
They shall bring up a crowd against you, and they shall stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords.

Then the captain with the officers went and brought them, but not by force, for they were afraid of being stoned by the people.
The LORD of hosts will protect them, and they shall devour, and tread down the sling stones, and they shall drink and roar as if drunk with wine, and be full like a bowl, drenched like the corners of the altar.
