Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, "Choose for yourselves one bull and prepare it first, for you are many, and call upon the name of your god, but put no fire to it."

Now therefore send and gather all Israel to me at Mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table."

Then Elijah said to the people, "I, even I only, am left a prophet of the LORD, but Baal's prophets are men.

When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling; he was exalted in Israel, but he incurred guilt through Baal and died.
