And so with every one of you who does not bid farewell to all he has--he cannot be a disciple of mine.

Every one who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or land, on account of my Name, will receive many times as much, and will 'gain Immortal Life.'

And said--'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and be united to his wife, and the man and his wife shall become one'?

"If any man comes to me and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yes and his very life, he can be no disciple of mine.

"But we," began Peter, "we left everything and have followed you."

At my first trial no one stood by me. They all deserted me. May it never be counted against them!
