Righteous Father, although the world did not know you, I did know you, and these men have come to know that you sent me,
And they were singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb: "Great and wonderful are your works, Lord God, Almighty One; upright and true your ways, O King of the ages.
Who can bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who declared them in right standing;
Now the crown for doing right awaits me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day, and not only me but also all who have loved His appearing.
Now we know that God's judgment justly falls on those who practice such sins as these.
Although they know full well God's sentence that those who practice such things deserve to die, yet they not only practice them but even applaud others who do them.
so that the requirement of the law might be fully met in us who do not live by the standard set by our lower nature, but by the standard set by the Spirit.
But if our wrongdoing brings to light the uprightness of God, what shall we infer? Is it wrong (I am using everyday human terms) for God to inflict punishment?
