Then King David sent and took him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar. Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face and worshipped. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy slave! And David said unto him, Fear not; for I will surely show thee mercy for Jonathan, thy father's sake, and will restore unto thee all the land of Saul, thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
And the barbarous people showed us no little kindness; for they kindled a great fire and received all of us because of the present rain and because of the cold.

For the poor shall never cease out of the land; therefore, I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor and to thy needy, in thy land.
Ask thy slaves, and they will tell thee. Therefore, let the young men find grace in thine eyes, for we come in a good day; give, I pray thee, whatever is in thy hand unto thy slaves and to thy son David.
The soul who is a blessing unto others shall be made fat, and he that fills shall be filled also himself. He that withholds the grain, the people shall curse him, but blessing shall be upon the head of him that sells it. He that seeks good early shall find favour, but unto him that seeks evil, it shall come upon him.
so that being enriched in everything to all generosity, which works out through us thanksgiving unto God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also abounds in much thanksgiving unto God; that by the experience of this ministration, they glorify God for the obedience of your consent unto the gospel of the Christ and in your liberal distribution unto them and unto everyone,
And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. Therefore as long as we have the opportunity, let us do good unto everyone, especially unto those who are of the household of faith.
but charge them to do good, that they be rich in good works, liberal to distribute, willing to communicate,
That the slave of the Lord should not be contentious, but be meek unto everyone, apt to teach, patient,
Do not forget to do good and to fellowship; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Ye also, giving all diligence to the same, show forth virtue in your faith; and in virtue, knowledge; and in knowledge, temperance; and in temperance, patience; and in patience, fear of God; and in fear of God, brotherly love; and in brotherly love, charity.
