And all this looked toward the present time and was symbolic of the fact that the mere offering of material gifts and sacrifices cannot inwardly qualify the worshiper to approach God,

From that we can be sure that we are on the side of the truth, and satisfy our consciences in God's sight, if they condemn us for anything, for God is greater than our consciences, and he knows all.

A good man, out of the good he has accumulated, brings out things that are good, and a bad man, out of what he has accumulated that is bad, brings out things that are bad. But I tell you, for every careless word that men utter they will have to answer on the Day of Judgment.

So each one of us must give an account of himself to God.
