And they gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the house of Baal-berith, with which Abimelech hired vain and light persons, who followed him. And he went to his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being seventy persons, upon one stone; notwithstanding, yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself. After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.

Thus God rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did to his father, in slaying his seventy brethren:

But I saw no other of the apostles, save James the Lord's brother.

Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Judas, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come near to him for the crowd.

(For neither did his brethren believe in him.)

But when his brethren had gone up, then he went also to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

His brethren therefore said to him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

There came then his brethren and his mother, and standing without, they sent to him, calling him.

After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and they continued there not many days.

Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad, a bond-man to my lord; and let the lad return with his brethren.
