Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, least any one fall after the same example of unbelief.

Now Jesus being full of the holy Spirit, returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted by the devil; and He did eat nothing in all those days: and when they were ended, at last He was hungry.
Now from the sixth hour to the ninth there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani," that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And some of them that stood by, hearing Him, said, He calls upon Elias:read more.
and immediately one of them ran, and took a spunge, and having filled it with vinegar put it upon a reed, and offered it Him to drink; the rest said, Stay, let us see whether Elias will come and save Him. But Jesus cried out again with a loud voice; and then gave up the ghost.
Now at the sixth hour there was darkness over the whole land, until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani," which is being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And some of them that stood by hearing it, said, Behold He calleth upon Elias.read more.
And there ran one, and filled a spunge with vinegar, and putting it on a reed offered it Him to drink, saying, Let Him alone, let us see whether Elias will come to take Him down. But Jesus cried with a loud voice and expired.
Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land till the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And Jesus cried with a loud voice and said, Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit. And when He had said thus, He expired.
After this Jesus knowing that all things were now finished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel there full of vinegar: so they filled a spunge with the vinegar, and putting it upon hyssop, held it up to his mouth. And when Jesus had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished. And reclining his head, He yielded up the ghost.
And they went into the sepulchre and saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white robe; and they were affrighted: but he said to them, Be not affrighted, ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified, He is risen, He is not here, see the place where they laid Him.
and the angel said to the women, Be not ye afraid: for I know that ye seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay:
And while they were in perplexity about it, behold, two men stood by them in shining robes. And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the ground, the men said unto them, Why do ye seek the living among the dead? He is not here, He is risen: remember how He spake to you, when He was yet in Galilee,
And He led them out as far as to Bethany: and lifted up his hands and blessed them. And while He was blessing them, He was parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.
And having said these things, as they were looking upon Him, He was lifted up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all met together with one accord. And suddenly there was a sound from heaven as of a strong rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them divided tongues, as it were of fire, and it sat upon each of them:read more.
and they were all filled with the holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
