10 Bible Verses about How Disciples Learn

And having begun from Moses and from all the prophets, he expounded to them in all the scriptures the things about himself.

This is the beginning of the signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and he manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

And they said to each other, Was not our heart burning within us while he spoke to us on the way, while he opened to us the scriptures?

And he said to them, These are the words that I spoke to you while still being with you, that it is necessary for all things that are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms about me to be fulfulled. Then he opened their mind to understand the scriptures.

And it came to pass as he was in a certain place praying, that when he ceased, a certain man of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples. And he said to them, When ye pray, say, Our Father in the heavens, hallowed be thy name. May thy kingdom come, may thy will happen on the earth as also in heaven. And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive every man who is indebted to us. And bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

And he said to them, To you is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to those outside, all things occur in parables. So that seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear, and not understand, lest they should turn, and the sins would be forgiven them.

And he did not speak to them apart from a parable, but privately he explained all things to his disciples.

And having turning toward the disciples in private, he said, Blessed are the eyes that see what ye see. For I say to you, that many prophets and kings desired to see what ye see, and did not see, and to hear what ye hear, and did not hear.

And he said to them, Come ye yourselves in private into a desolate place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no opportunity even to eat.

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders, and chief priests, and scholars, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.
