He said to me, "They are the people who come through the great persecution, who have washed their robes white in the blood of the Lamb. That is why they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple, and he who is seated on the throne will shelter them. They will never be hungry or thirsty again, and never again will the sun or any burning heat distress them, for the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes."

It was allowed to utter great boasts and blasphemies, and to exert authority for forty-two months. It opened its mouth in blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling-place, that is, those who live in heaven. It was allowed to make war on God's people and to conquer them, and it was given authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation.
