And Jesus entered Jerusalem, and went into the temple; and when he had looked around on all things, the hour being now late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

And his parents went up every year to Jerusalem, at the feast of passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem, according to the custom of the feast. And when they had kept the full number of days, and had set out to return, the child Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew it not.read more.
But supposing that he was in the company, they went a day's journey; and they sought for him among their relatives and acquaintance; and not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem in search of him. And it came to pass, after three days, that they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding, and his answers. And when they saw him they were amazed. And his mother said to him: Child, why have you acted thus toward us? Be hold, your father and I have sought for you in sorrow. And he said to them: Why did you seek for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house? And they did not understand the words which he spoke to them. And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them. And his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and placed him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him: If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from this place;

came to me, and standing by me, said, Brother Saul, receive your sight. And the same hour I looked upon him. And he said, The God of our fathers has chosen you, that you should know his will, and see the Just One, and hear the voice of his mouth; for you shall be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.read more.
And now, why do you delay? Arise, and be immersed, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord. And it came to pass, after I had returned to Jerusalem, and while I was praying in the temple, that I was in a trance, and saw him saying to me, Make haste, and depart quickly from Jerusalem, for they will not receive your testimony concerning me.

Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where we ought to worship. Jesus said to her: Woman, believe me, the hour is coming, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, will you worship the Father.

And if any one ask you why you loose him, thus shall you say to him: The Lord has need of him. And those who were sent, went, and found as he had said to them. And as they were loosing the colt, the owners of him said to them: Why do you loose the colt? They replied: The Lord has need of him. And they brought him to Jesus, and threw their mantles upon the colt, and set Jesus on him. And as he was going on, they spread their mantles in the road. And when he was now near the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and to praise God, with a loud voice, for all the mighty deeds which they had seen, saying: Blessed is the king that comes in the name of the Lord; peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

And as they led him away, they laid hold of Simon, a certain Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, and on him they laid the cross, that he might carry it after Jesus. And there followed him a great number of the people, and of women that bewailed and lamented him. But Jesus turned, and said to them, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.read more.
For, behold, the days are coming in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never gave suck. Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. For, if they do these things in the green tree, what shall be done in the dry? And two others, who were evil-doers, were led out to be put to death with him. And when they came to the place called Skull, they there crucified him and the evil-doers; one on the right, and the other on the left. And Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And dividing his clothing into parts, they cast lots. And the people stood and looked on. And the rulers, with them scoffed at him, saying: He saved others, let him save himself if he is the Christ, the chosen of God. The soldiers also derided him, coming to him and offering him vinegar, and saying: If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself. And a superscription was also written over him in Greek and in Roman and in Hebrew letters, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. And one of the evil-doers that were hanged reviled him, saying: If you are the Christ, save yourself and us. But the other answering, rebuked him, saying: Do you not fear God, since you are in the same condemnation? And we justly; for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong. And he said to Jesus: remember me, Lord, when thou comest in thy kingdom. And Jesus said to him: Verily I say to you, to-day you shall be with me in paradise. And it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land till the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the vail of the temple was rent in the midst. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and said: Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit. And when he had said this, he gave up his spirit. When the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying: Truly, this was a righteous man. And all the multitudes that had come together to that sight, when they saw what was done, returned, smiting their breasts. And all his acquaintance, and the women that had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance looking on these things.

And on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the sepulcher, bringing the spices which they had prepared; and with them came certain others. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher; and they entered in, but found not the body of the Lord Jesus.read more.
And it came to pass, while they were much perplexed at this, behold, two men stood by them in shining raiment. And while they feared and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them: Why seek you among the dead for him that lives? He is not here, but he has risen; remember that he spoke to you while he was yet in Galilee, saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words, and returned from the sepulcher, and told all these things to the eleven and to the rest. It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, that told these things to the apostles. And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not. But Peter arose and ran to the sepulcher, and stooping down, he saw the linen clothes lying by themselves; and he departed, wondering in himself at that which had come to pass.

And calling them together, he commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of my Father, which, said he, you have heard from me; for John indeed immersed in water, but you shall be immersed in the Holy Spirit, not many days hence. Therefore, when they came together, they asked him, saying: Lord, wilt thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?read more.
But he said to them: It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has reserved under his own control. But you shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses for me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the most distant part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they were looking on him, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.

And when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one consent in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a rushing, violent wind, and it filled the whole house in which they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues like fire, which distributed them selves, and sat one on each of them.read more.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem devout Jews, from every nation under heaven. When the report of this had gone abroad, the multitude came together; and they were perplexed, for each one heard them speak in his own language. They were amazed and astonished, and said one to another: Are not all these that are speaking, Galileans? And how is it that we hear, every one in our own language in which we were born Parthians and Modes and Elamites, and we who dwell in Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya about Gyrene, Roman residents, Jews and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians we hear them speaking, in our own tongues, the wonderful works of God? And they were all in amazement and doubt, and said, one to another: What can this mean? But others deriding, said: They are full of new wine. But Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said to them: Men of Judea, and all you that dwell in Jerusalem, be this known to you, and give ear to my words. For these men are not drunk, as you suppose: for it is the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Joel: And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams. And also on my servants and on my handmaids, I will pour out of my Spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath, blood and fire and columns of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and terrible day of the Lord comes. And it shall come to pass, that whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

And at that time there was a great persecution against the church that was in Jerusalem; and they were all dispersed throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
