When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

But their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.

But they were startled and frightened, and supposed that they saw a spirit. And he said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your hearts?

And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either.

Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.

This Jesus God raised up again, and of that we are all witnesses.

While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.'"

See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Handle me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have."

Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.

and he took it and ate in their presence.

and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.

he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm: 'You are my Son; today I have begotten you.'

He considered that God was able to raise men even from the dead; from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who is also interceding for us.

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came.

but they simply had some points of dispute with him about their own religion and about a dead man, Jesus, whom Paul asserted to be alive.

if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and so is your faith. More than that, we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised.

Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons.

Mary Magdalene went and said to the disciples, "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."

No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from my Father."

For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

So they kept the matter to themselves, questioning what the rising from the dead meant.

if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and so is your faith.

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most to be pitied.

After that he appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.

Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.

And last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared to me also.

Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, and said, "Tell them, 'His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.' read more.
And if this comes to the governor's ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble." So they took the money and did as they were instructed; and this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted.

that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming like him in his death;

and said, "Sir, we remember how that deceiver said, while he was still alive, 'After three days I will rise again.' Therefore order that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He has risen from the dead.' So the last deception will be worse than the first." Pilate said to them, "You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how." read more.
So they went and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone and setting a guard.

Then he opened their minds, so they could understand the Scriptures. And he said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,

Now behold, that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. And they were talking with each other about all these things that had happened. While they talked and discussed, Jesus himself drew near and went with them. read more.
But their eyes were kept from recognizing him. And he said to them, "What is this conversation which you are exchanging with each other as you walk?" And they stood still, looking sad. Then one of them, named Cleopas, answered him, "Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem and do not know the things that have happened there in these days?" And he said to them, "What things?" And they said to him, "The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and crucified him. But we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, it is the third day since all this happened. In addition, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, and when they did not find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said he was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as the women had said; but him they did not see." And he said to them, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Christ have to suffer these things and enter his glory?" And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things concerning himself in all the scriptures. As they drew near the village to which they were going, he acted as though he would be going farther, but they constrained him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent." So he went in to stay with them. When he was at the table with them, he took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he vanished from their sight.

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David according to my gospel,

And behold, Jesus met them and said, "Hail!" And they came to him and took hold of his feet and worshipped him.

For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit;

be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him this man stands before you healed. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which has become the chief cornerstone.

Eight days later, his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. The doors were shut, but Jesus came and stood among them, and said, "Peace be with you!"

Later he appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

saying, "The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!"

because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given proof to all men by raising him from the dead."

After this Jesus showed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way he showed himself:
