Think not that I am come to make void the law or the prophets; I am not come to make void, but to fulfil. For, leaving the commandment of God, ye hold what is delivered by men to keep washings of vessels and cups, and many other such like things ye do. And he said to them, Well do ye set aside the commandment of God, that ye may observe what is delivered by yourselves to keep. The law and the prophets were until John: from that time the glad tidings of the kingdom of God are announced, and every one forces his way into it. But it is easier that the heaven and the earth should pass away than that one tittle of the law should fail.
