Think not that I am come to destroy the law and the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil. For I tell you assuredly, that till heaven and earth pass away, not one iota, or the smallest stroke of a letter, shall pass from the law, until all things shall be accomplished. Whosoever therefore shall break one of the least of these commandments, and teach men so, he shall be accounted the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall practise, and teach them, he shall be reckoned great in the kingdom of heaven.

For leaving the command of God, ye adhere to the tradition of men, the washings of pots and cups; and many other such like things ye practise. And he said to them, Strangely do ye make void the command of God, that ye may observe your tradition. For Moses said, "Honour thy father and thy mother:" and "he that curseth father or mother, let him assuredly be put to death." The law and the prophets were until John: since that the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one tittle of the law to fail.

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, "I said ye are gods?" If he called those gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; do ye say of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest because I said, I am the Son of God?
