And these things we write, that your joy may be made full. And this is the message which we have heard from Him, and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him, to show to His servants the things which must shortly come to pass; and, having sent, He signified them through His angel to His servant John; who testified of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, whatsoever things he saw. Happy is he that reads, and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things written therein; for the time is near.

And he says to me, "Write, Happy are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he says to me, "These are true words of God." And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he says to me, "See that you do it not: I am a fellow-servant of you and of your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

And he said to me, "These words are faithful and true; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His servants the things which must shortly come to pass. And, behold, I come quickly! Happy is he that keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." And I, John, am he who heard and saw these things. And, when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day; and I heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet, saying, "What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven assemblies; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

And, when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead! And He laid His right hand on me, saying, "Fear not; I am the First and the Last, and the Living One; and I was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore; and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
