For this cause we also, from the day that we heard it, cease not to pray for you, and to request that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding:
and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
But then indeed, when ye knew not God, ye served those which in reality are no gods. But now that ye know God, or rather are known by God, how is it that ye turn again to the poor weak elements, to which ye desire again to be in bondage as before?
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to the knowledge of Him,
and height, and to know the love of Christ, which surpasseth knowledge; that ye may be filled according to the abundant fulness of God.
that their hearts may be comforted, being knit together in love, and to all the riches of a full assurance of understanding in these things, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of our God and Father, and of Christ:
destroying false reasonings, and every height that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and captivating every thought to the obedience of Christ.
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification: that ye should abstain from fornication, and that every one of you should possess his vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, like the heathens who know not God.
but is now manifested, and made known to all nations by the writings of the prophets, according to the appointment of the eternal God,
This I say therefore, and charge you in the name of the Lord, that ye no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, darkened in their understanding, and alienated from the life of God, through the ignorance that is in them, by reason of the hardness of their heart: who, being past feeling, have given themselves up to lasciviousness, to commit all uncleanness with greediness.read more.
But ye have not so learned Christ; if ye have indeed hearkened to Him, and been instructed in Him, as the truth is in Jesus; to put off the old man, which according to your former conversation was corrupted with deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and to put on the new man, which according to the image of God is created in righteousness, and true holiness.
And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all discernment; that ye may try things that differ, that ye may be sincere and without offence until the day of Christ; being full of the fruits of righteousness which are through Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of God.

Now Stephen being full of grace and power, wrought miracles and great signs among the people. But there rose up some of the synagogue, which is called that of the libertines, and some of the Cyrenians, and of the Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia, and Asia, to dispute with Stephen: and they were not able to resist the wisdom and spirit by which he spake.
Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober, and stedfastly hope for the grace to be conferred upon you at the appearing of Jesus Christ;
Behold then what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God: though for this reason the world knoweth us not, because it knew not Him.
that ye may be the children of your heavenly Father; for He causeth his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain upon the just and the unjust.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathens do, for they think they shall be heard for their speaking much: be not ye therefore like them; for your Father knoweth what ye have need of before ye ask Him.read more.
After this manner therefore pray ye,
And He said, a certain man had two sons: and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion that falleth to my share. And he divided his substance between them. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together and went abroad into a distant country, and there squandered away his substance by living luxuriously.read more.
And when he had spent all, there happen'd a grievous famine in that country, and he began to be in want. And he went and let himself to one of the people of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would gladly have filled his belly with the husks which the swine did eat: and no man relieved him. But coming to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger? I will rise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee, and am no longer worthy to be called thy son; make me as one of thy hired servants. And he rose and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion; and he ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And his son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee, and am no longer worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, bring out the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: and bring hither the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and be merry: for this my son was dead, and is alive again, and was lost and is found. And they began to be merry. But his elder son was out in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing: and he called one of the servants to him, and asked what these things meant. And he said to him, Thy brother is come, and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and well: but he was angry, and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and desired him. But he answered and said to his father, Behold so many years as I serve thee, nor have I ever transgressed thy command, and yet thou hast never given me a kid, to be merry with my friends: but as soon as this thy son was come, who hath eaten up thy substance with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf. And he said unto him, Son, thou art always with me, and all that I have is thine. But it was fit we should be merry and rejoice; for this thy brother was dead, and is come to life again, was lost and is found.
He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest my self to him.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave up Himself for it:
Let us rejoice and exult and give glory to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, descending from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these shall be superadded unto you.
Seek ye therefore the kingdom of God, and all these shall be super-added unto you.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
which He will manifest in his own times, who is the blessed and only potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords,
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.

Wherefore God also gave them up to impurity, in the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies among themselves; who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature instead of the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. Therefore God gave them up to infamous passions: for even their women changed the natural use into that which is unnatural, and the men likewise, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust to one another, men with men committing shame, and receiving in themselves the recompence of their error which they deserved. And as they were not careful to acknowledge God, God gave them up to an undiscerning mind to do things that were not fit to be done: being filled with all injustice, lewdness, wickedness, covetousness, malignity; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and every evil habit; whisperers, slanderers, haters of God, injurious, haughty, proud, inventers of mischief, undutiful to parents, void of understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, and unmerciful: who though they knew the just judgement of God, (that they who commit such practises are worthy of death) yet not only do these very things, but also countenance and encourage others in the practice of them.
To the pure indeed all things are pure; but to the polluted and unbelieving nothing is pure; even their mind and conscience is polluted. They profess to know God, but in works deny Him, being abominable and disobedient, and to every thing that is good void of understanding.
For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted themselves to the righteousness which is of God.
many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name have wrought many miracles? and I will then declare unto them, I never owned you, depart from me, ye workers of iniquity.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who withhold the truth in unrighteousness; for what is to be known of God is manifest among them, for God hath manifested it to them.
But by thy hardness and impenitence of heart thou art treasuring up to thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the just judgement of God,
with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, taking vengeance on those who know not God, and who obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
