For what benefit will it be to a man, if he gains the whole world and loses his higher life? What price would a man pay to buy back his life?
For what benefit will it be to a man to gain the whole world and lose or forfeit himself?
Anybody who gains his lower life will lose the higher life, and anybody who loses his lower life for my sake will gain the higher life.
For I know that if this earthly tent in which I live is taken down, I have a building in heaven which comes from God, a house not built by human hands but eternal.
Yet I think it right, as long as I live in this bodily tent, to arouse you by a reminder, because I know that the removal of my bodily tent is to be very soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me.
