For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring.
Whereas ye know not what will be on the morrow: For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Instead of that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
LORD, make me to know my end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
Come now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy, and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what will be on the morrow: For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping animal that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And surely your blood of your lives will I require: at the hand of every beast will I require it: and at the hand of man, at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. Whoever sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
I will praise thee: for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: wonderful are thy works; and that my soul well knoweth.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
Honor thy father and thy mother; that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Honor thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may be well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him restrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
I lothe it; I would not live always: let me alone; for my days are vanity.
