Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God, and everyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.

May the Lord make your love for one another and for all men wide and full like my love for you,

For the Spirit God has given us is a spirit not of timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline.

So we know and believe in the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever continues to love keeps in union with God, and God with him.
