For the Son of man shall hereafter come in the glory of his Father, with his angels, and then shall he recompense every man according to his practice.
Watch therefore: for ye know not at what hour your Master cometh. And this observe, that if the master of the family had known in which watch of the night the thief would have come, he would have watched, and not have suffered him to break into his house. Therefore be ye also prepared: for in an hour that ye think not, the Son of man cometh.
But when the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory:
Jesus saith to him, Thou hast spoken [the fact]. Moreover I tell you, hereafter ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, before this adulterous and sinful generation; of him will the Son of man also be ashamed, when he shall come in the glory of his Father, with the holy angels.
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in his own glory, and his father's, and of the holy angels.
And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men terrified to death with fear, and expectation of the calamities coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with power and great glory.
And if I go and prepare you a place, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And as he was speaking these things, while they were looking upon him, he was taken up; and a cloud enveloping him hid him from their eyes. And as they looked up earnestly into the heaven, while he was passing, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; who also said to them, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up to heaven? this Jesus, who hath been taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, in the same manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
so that ye have not been deficient in any gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall confirm you to the end blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But our conversation is in heaven as its citizens, from whence also we are expecting the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ,
and to wait for his Son from the heavens, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath to come.
Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are fallen asleep, that ye be not afflicted, as the rest [of mankind] who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died, and rose again, so also those that have fallen asleep for Jesus shall God bring with him. For this I say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent those who are fallen asleep.read more.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we who are alive, who remain, shall be caught up together with them into the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord.
NOW concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I should write to you: for yourselves know precisely that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction rusheth upon them, as travail on a woman with child, and they shall in no wise escape.
I conjure thee in the presence of God, who giveth life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who witnessed that noble confession before Pontius Pilate; that thou observe this injunction spotless, irreproachable, unto the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: which in his own appointed times he will shew forth, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: yet not to me only, but also to all who have loved his appearing.
expecting the blessed hope, and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;
so Christ having been once offered in sacrifice to bear the sins of men, will appear the second time without sin, to those who expect him, for their salvation.
Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See, the husbandman waits for the precious fruit of the earth, in patient expectation for it, till it receives the former and the latter rain.
and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue in the same state as from the beginning of the creation.
Behold! he is coming with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also who pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth shall lament bitterly, smiting their bosoms, because of him: even so! Amen.
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he who watcheth, and keepeth his garments, that he walk not about naked, and men see his shame.
And behold, I come quickly: and my reward is with me, to give to every man as his work shall be. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they who keep his commandments, that they may have authority to approach unto the tree of life, and that they may enter in by the gates into the city.read more.
But without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and every one who loveth and maketh a lie. For I testify to every one who heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man add to these things, God will lay upon him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the book of life, and from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He that testifieth these things saith, Verily, I come quickly. Amen. Yea come, Lord Jesus!
